I like this photo because of the contrasting shapes. The very square and linear building and the hands of the clock, versus the round shape of the clock and the small circle at the end of the seconds hand.

I really like the backlighting in this photo. I like the use of the blue lighting instead of something warmer. The way the model is dressed looks like it's winter, or a cooler season, so the lighting really adds to that. Also, the outline of purple light around her is very cool.

I guess I just really like backlighting. I love the flares, especially because the line they make parallels the circle of the lens, and cuts from one corner to the other.

I like the soft, yet harsh, lighting of this photo. The hard shadows contrast really nicely with the soft lighting. I also like how only one eye is illuminated. There's only one light source, looking at the reflection in her eye, and the reflection on the glass.

The lighting in this photo is really harsh, and very focused. It's kind of hard to tell where the light is coming from, because the subject fills the frame, and there are shadows all around her. I really like this lighting because it's super focused on her face, and it makes for a very dramatic image.

I love the contrast between the lines of the strings and frets and the circles of the reflected light and the amplifier in the center.

I think this photo is very powerful for me because she looks apprehensive, which is a feeling I can really relate to. Even without the caption telling me about this girl, I can understand the look on her face, because I know I've sported that one myself, and still do sometimes.
